Wrought Iron Saddle Leather Dining Chairs Set of 4 Vintage Spanish English MCM
A gorgeous rare set of four forged wrought iron and saddle leather dining chairs in lovely condition. Likely made in England or Spain the 1970s/1980s, these beautiful chairs will enhance any setting with a stunning timeless look of quality and elegance.
Strikingly attractive, impressively sized, reassuringly heavy and very comfortable, these wonderful chairs were forged from wrought iron and have thick chocolate brown saddle leather seats and backs.
The tubular wrought iron frames are particularly lovely, having wonderful curves with legs and arms in the form of two joined semi-circles in the X-Frame or Savonarola style. They have bulbous feet and back finials and arched underside and back supports. The excellent quality thick saddle leather is wrapped around the frames and held in place by a series of rivets, which are all present and correct.
All in all this is a wonderful set of classic chairs and their timeless design and excellent quality will add sophistication and quality to any interior.
CONDITION
These are in good-to-very-good condition. Structurally sound and sturdy, they have only minor cosmetic blemishes to denote their age, as you’d expect, including some minor marks to the leather and a graze to the back of one of the chairs and minor nicks and ageing to the wrought iron frames. But overall they’re in really lovely vintage condition and if well looked after they should be just as gorgeous and desirable in another four decades at least – please see the photos.
