Turkish Backgammon Table Rustic Coffee Table Metamorphic Vintage Artisan 1970s
A gorgeous rare vintage Turkish Backgammon Table in lovely condition. One of two of these super tables we currently have in stock, this superb rustic beauty doubles as a coffee table and will add knockout artisan styling, vintage charm and Middle Eastern intrigue to any interior.
Hand crafted from beautiful solid multi-toned Rainbow Poplar wood, most likely in Turkey around the 1970s, it is reassuringly heavy and shows fabulous colouring and grain patterning.
Constructed using traditional artisan craftsmanship, it has a central top, which when left in place creates a charming and handily-sized coffee table. Simply lift off the top to reveal the hidden hand-painted sunken backgammon board, transforming this fabulous piece into a superb secret games table.
It comes with the original artisan box to store backgammon discs, which sits inside the table when the lid is shut.
All in all this is a fabulous and rare metamorphic Turkish backgammon table, which won’t fail to impress or prove useful and fun in any setting.
CONDITION
This is in very good condition. Structurally sound and beautifully crafted from superb Rainbow Poplar wood, it has to-be-expected signs of age, including a hard-to-notice small crack to one of end borders of the backgammon board. Overall it’s a fabulous piece in lovely condition and if well looked after it should remain just impressive for many more decades to come – please see the photos.
