Magnificent Teak Root Bench Sculptural Natural Outdoors Interior Indonesian MCM
A magnificent, beautifully sculptural and rare vintage solid wooden teak root bench in beautiful condition. Likely made in Indonesia in the 2nd half of the 20th Century, this wonderful bench has beautiful rich colouring and will add a wonderful natural aesthetic and superb sculptural curves and lines to any setting.
Teak root benches are rare and this one, in our opinion, is unsurpassed on the market. Made of beautiful quality and wonderfully golden toned solid teak wood, the seat and back are sculpted from a single piece into a stunning curved shape with a beautiful wave-like fringe, with the robust legs inserted into the underside.
Reassuringly heavy and impressively sized without being huge, it’s a generous two-seater bench with room to squeeze more on for wonderful photo opportunities.
Striking, sturdy, natural, rare and beautiful, this is a real eye-catching statement piece; this can be used as an outside bench or a wonderfully decorative interior piece. We’re unlikely to come across another as good as this, so grab this stunner while you can.
CONDITION
This is in excellent condition. This has been very well looked after and there are only minor marks to show its vintage age. Teak is a hard wood valued for its durability and water resistance and it has been treated to keep it in lovely condition, and if using outside it should have a yearly treatment top-up. Overall it’s a stunning piece in really beautiful condition and if well looked after it should be just as magnificent in many generations to come – please see the photos.
