Rare Set of 4 Vintage Antique Black Chinese Carved Dining Chairs Ebonised Orient

A gorgeous rare set of four vintage/antique Chinese dining chairs in wonderful condition. Most likely made in the first half of the 20th Century, these exceptional and finely carved chairs have been professionally repainted in beautiful black and will add a wonderful mix of modern chic and antique finery to any interior. 
 
Made of reassuringly heavy solid wood, these chairs have been beautifully crafted and show fantastic detail and craftsmanship throughout. 
 
They have large trapezoid seats with indented borders and rounded edges, beautifully shaped backs with incredibly finely carved floral fretwork backs splats, robust shapely legs with bas relief floral and leaf carvings to the knees and feet and wonderful four-sided fretwork apron carvings to match the back splats. 
 
A fabulous set which must have taken hundreds of hours of master craftsmanship to create, these are of exceptional quality and have been stripped and professionally repainted in a beautiful satin black finish to give these superb vintage chairs a magnificent modern look. 
 
All in all this is an extremely rare set of outstanding and finely carved vintage/antique chairs with a modern finish that will be a knockout in any setting. 
 
CONDITION
These are in very good condition. Superbly constructed from reassuringly heavy solid wood, they are structurally sound and very sturdy. They have minor knocks and bumps to the wood, to be expected from chairs of this age, and a few historic scratches to two of the seats, more noticeable from certain angles in certain lighting, but which if anything only adds to their authentic vintage charm. Overall they’re fabulous set in wonderful condition and if well looked after they should be just as show-stopping for many decades to come – please see the photos.
