Rare Pair of 1970s Bamboo Swivel Chairs MCM Easy Chairs by Angraves of Leicester
A gorgeous rare pair of super-stylish bamboo swivel armchairs in really wonderful condition. Made in the early 1970s by Angraves of Leicester as part of their 'Invincible' range, this stunning and very comfy pair make great lounge, conservatory or occasional armchairs and will add a splendid touch of genuine Mid Century Bohemian chic to any interior.
Expertly and intricately made from bent bamboo wood by Angraves of Leicester, who were regarded as the best 20th Century makers of cane furniture in the UK, these stunning armchairs have lovely circular concave frames mounted on impressive bamboo bases, which still have the Angraves 'Invincible' labels affixed. They feature a smooth and very pleasing swivel action and have the original comfy plump buttoned cushions upholstered in a watermelon pink textured draylon, completing the perfect 1970s Boho-chic look.
All in all these are a super-stylish pair of rare bamboo swivel chairs, ideal for whiling away the hours in. Versatile and super-comfy, they'd look fab in pretty much any setting and are in remarkable condition, so grab this pair of 1970s gems while you can.
CONDITION
These are in very-good-to-excellent condition. Expertly made and built to last, they live up to their 'Invincible' name. The chairs themselves are in excellent condition: structurally sound, all the parts and woven ties are, remarkably, in pretty much as-new condition, with the only very minor wear to denote their age being a small area of fading on the front lower left (if looking) of the arms of each chair. The cushions are in very good condition and have been sponge cleaned and also, remarkably, show no noticeable stains or areas of fading, with the only minor issue being the fragility of the silky ties, two of which are missing on one cushion, and which if we were keeping them, we'd probably remove and replace the ties or leave without ties as the cushions stay in place pretty well without them. Overall these are a fantastic pair of rare 1970s Bohemian gems in really wonderful condition and if well looked after they should remain so for many more decades - please see the photos.
