Large Arts & Crafts Rocking Chair American Mission Farmhouse Embroidered Pine

A very lovely, large and unusual vintage rocking chair. Made in the American 'Mission' Arts & Crafts style, this very impressive chair is made from pine and so also fits with a farmhouse style decor.

We don't know much about the history of this chair but would guess that it was made in the second half/latter third of the twentieth century, possibly in America, and may well be unique as we've found nothing the same in our research. The upright style, attractive spindle back design and broad pronounced joints all nod towards the Mission style of Arts & Crafts chairs.

The lovely large and broad, comfy seat with vintage embroidered upholstery fits with a farmhouse/ranch/cottage setting. Suitable for any size frame, this is a really impressive chair, even more so 'in the 'flesh', and would be super as an impressive statement chair in a homely setting.

CONDITION

This has been loved and really well looked after and is excellent vintage condition, with very few marks, knocks or scratches. The only noticeable mark is a minor knock to the back of the headrest rail - please see the photos.
