Large Antique French Baroque Style Mirror Country House Gold Black Rectangular

A very impressive and strikingly attractive Baroque style bevelled glass mirror in wonderful condition. Dating to at least the 1940s and possibly older, this ornate and classical-looking antique style mirror will add bygone grandeur to any setting. 
 
Large but not huge at 35x46 inches, this fabulous rectangular mirror has fixings that allow it to be hung either landscape or portrait, enabling it to add a commanding Baroque French aesthetic to a multitude of settings. 
 
It features excellent quality bevelled glass plate and an extremely ornate frame with rare and lavish Baroque style mouldings painted in gold with a black over-wash, which gives a copper-like hue with golden embellishments to flank the black concave bordered centre of the frame. 
 
Overall this is a strikingly impressive mirror, which won’t fail to add a stately Baroque aesthetic to any interior. 
 
CONDITION
This is in very-good-to-excellent vintage condition. Solid, sturdy and well made, it has been well looked after and was pride of place in a manor house since the early 1940s. It has only minor to-be-expected signs of wear and the excellent quality bevelled glass is in super condition with no noticeable scratches or chips. The back has been re-papered in more recent years and overall this is a really impressive mirror in wonderful condition, and if well looked after, it should be just as breath-taking for generations to come – please see the photos.
