Lancashire Rush Chair 1820 Ash Spindle Back Rush Seat Georgian Occasional Dining

Lancashire Rush Chair 1820 Ash Spindle Back Rush Seat Georgian Occasional Dining

A gorgeous rare early 19th Century Lancashire rush seat chair in lovely condition. Made in Lancashire around 1820, this beautiful antique chair will add a wonderful antique aesthetic to any interior.

Made of ash, it features two rows of five beautifully turned Lancashire back spindles, gorgeous turned front legs with hoofed feet and a gorgeous and impressively turned front stretcher.

The chair has double side stretchers, chamfered rear legs that turn into rounded back supports with notched finials, which are joined at the top by a carved crest rail. And last but not least, the rush seat is in excellent condition.

All in all this is a very attractive early 19th Century Lancashire chair, which won’t fail to add quintessential antique charm to any setting.

This is in very good condition. Structurally sound and built to last, the joints are solid, the rush seat is in remarkable condition, and it shows only minor to-be-expected signs of its considerable age. Overall it’s a stunning rare chair in really lovely condition and if well looked after it should be just as impressive for generations to come – please see the photos.
