Futuristic Minimalistic Scandinavian Rocking Chair Axvall by Niels Gammelgaard
A stunning, rare and extremely comfortable large futuristic rocking chair in lovely condition. Designed by Scandinavian Modern legend Niels Gammelgaard in the late 1990s, this Axvall rocking chair was produced by Ikea and will add a strikingly cool, minimalist, Space-Age-look and wow factor to any interior.
Brilliantly designed with clean and simple principles at its heart, this rocking chair is an off-white enamel-covered large spherical metal frame set on cantilever legs with thick elasticated woven cording for the extremely comfy seat and back. No cushions required, you simply sit and sink into the seat and rock away to your heart’s content.
All in all this is a strikingly attractive and surprisingly comfortable statement rocking chair, which will enhance any setting with its wonderfully architectural, minimalist and futuristic design aesthetic.
CONDITION
This is in very good condition. Structurally sound and sturdy, the only minor flaws are a few to-be-expected spots of wear and scratching to the enamel, mostly to the back, but overall it’s in really lovely condition and if well looked after it should remain just as stunning and desirable for many more decades - please see the photos.
