Eames Office Occasional Swivel Chair Mid Century EA106 Grey Hopsack Vitra 1990s
A rare Eames EA106 swivel chair in lovely vintage condition. Designed by Mid Century legends Charles & Ray Eames and made by Vitra in the 1990s, this iconic and versatile chair will add a sharp, clean and quintessentially Mid Century aesthetic to any interior.
Designed by Charles & Ray Eames in 1958 as part of their Aluminium Group of chairs, the EA106 combines wonderful minimalist simplicity with beauty, comfort and practicality. Produced by Vitra, who have held the European licence for manufacturing Eames furniture since 1957, this super swivel chair has the product stamp and original Vitra sticker still intact to the underside.
All-original, the robust but lightweight chrome-covered aluminium frame is beautifully laid bare and covered with charcoal-grey hopsack woven fabric and it has the original black feet glides on the iconic four-star base.
Timelessly attractive, versatile and superbly crafted, these chairs are still made today, with a new one costing over £2,000, and they can be found in top boardrooms, offices and homes throughout the world for very good reason.
CONDITION
This is in good vintage condition. Structurally sound and sturdy, it has minor to-be-expected wear and marks to show its age. The charcoal-grey hopsack fabric is in good condition with minor marks and the aluminium frame has only minor blemishes. Overall it's a rare and iconic chair in lovely vintage condition and if well looked after it should be just as attractive for decades to come – please see the photos.
