Art Deco Marble Mantel Clock French 1930s Bronze Swans Antique Vintage Clock
A fabulous French Art Deco marble mantel clock in wonderful condition. Made in France around 1930, this strikingly attractive clock will add beautiful colouring, refined sophistication and quintessential Art Deco styling to any interior.
All-original, well-proportioned and reassuringly heavy, this eye-catchingly attractive mantel clock is made of three varieties of multi-coloured marble showing beautiful striations.
It features a lovely layered nickel-mounted square clock face with gold numbering in the archetypal Art Deco font, has the original working French clock mechanism complete with chime and is crowned by two beautiful bronze cast Art Deco swans.
All in all this is a fabulous and very attractive clock, which will enhance any interior with knockout colour and more than a touch of Art Deco sophistication and bygone grandeur.
CONDITION
This is in good-to-very-good vintage condition. Structurally sound, sturdy and reassuringly heavy, it has recently been recalibrated by an antique clock expert and works well including the delicate chime. It has the original working winding key and shows only minor to-be-expected age-related marks and wear, but overall it’s a fabulous rare clock in really lovely condition and if well looked after it should remain so for many more generations to come – please see the photos.
