Antique Chinese Square Table Humpback Shanxi Province Lamp Table 1900 Yumu Elm

A rare and very attractive antique Chinese lamp table in lovely condition. Likely dating from the end of the Qing Dynasty or earlier, this charmingly attractive and practical table will enhance any interior with its traditional quality design, rich colouring and bygone Eastern aesthetic. 
 
Likely made in Shanxi Province towards the end of the 1800s, this charming and practical square side table was crafted from Yumu or Northern Elm wood and shows lovely grain patterning and colouring. 
 
A particularly delightful and rare piece with lovely curves and rounded edges, it features a mitre-joined square top with a very charming and rare central sunken section above a recessed waste and rounded shoulders supported by sturdy round columnar Shanxi legs, which are joined by the gorgeous eye-catching rounded humpback stretchers. 
 
Reassuringly heavy and made using traditional joinery, this enchanting table displays gorgeous rich Yumu grain pattern and hues ranging golden-orangey-brown to nutty-chocolate-brown.
 
All in all this is a very rare and extremely attractive antique Chinese side, coffee or lamp table, which will enhance any setting with its bygone quality.  
 
CONDITION
This is good-to-very-good condition. Structurally sound and sturdy, it has to-be-expected marks to show its age and a few minor historic woodworm marks to the underside, for which the whole table has been treated for good measure. Overall it's a stunning rare antique table in really lovely condition and if well looked after it should be just as impressive for generations to come – please see the photos.
