Antique Art Nouveau Mahogany Inlaid Armchair, Country House Armchair

A very lovely antique Art Nouveau mahogany inlaid armchair in very good condition. Likely made at the beginning of the 20th Century, its beautiful lines, intricate carving and refined elegance will enhance any interior with bygone craftsmanship and style. 
 
Made of solid mahogany, this armchair is a fine example of the Art Nouveau period and has beautiful shapely arms over turned rounded arm supports and squared tapering front legs. It features a finely carved and very decorative back, inlaid with two satinwood medallions and strung with boxwood inlay borders, which run along the arms, front legs and gently curving front stretcher. It has lovely rounded double side stretchers and rear stretcher and has an impressive regal green diamond upholstered seat. 
 
All in all this is a very attractive and impressive Art Nouveau armchair with wonderful lines and detailing. Ideal as an occasional, library or carver chair, it will add authentic antique charm to any room.  
 
CONDITION
This is in very good condition. Structurally sound and recently reupholstered, it has the Fire Safety Regulations label on the underside and the only signs of wear are fading to the boxwood inlay on the arms and some minor marks to the upper back, as you’d expect for a chair of its age. Overall it’s a very lovely chair in really lovely condition and if well looked after should be just as wonderful in another century or more – please see the photos.
